China gaokao (新课标I卷)2024

You are Li Hua. Last Friday, your class had an art class in a park. Write an email to your British friend Chris sharing this experience, including: (1) the work you completed, and (2) your feelings about it. Word count: about 80 words.

- Word count discipline: stay within ±10% of the target. Going much over loses points. - Vocabulary scope: stick to the 3,500-word gaokao syllabus. Out-of-scope words aren't rewarded and can flag your essay. - The Power column below only swaps in-syllabus words.

Sharing an art class in the park

The boring draft

Score: 14 / 25 (Band C)

Dear Chris,

I'd like to tell something fun with you. Last Friday, our class had an art class in the park instead of the classroom.

Our teacher asked us to make a watercolour painting of anything that looked beautiful. I chose a small pond covered with lotus flowers. The colours were hard to get, but my classmates helped me.

When the bell rang, I felt very happy. Painting outdoors made me see nature in a new way.

Yours,

Li Hua
